Big beats and classic raps meet with unwavering experience as life-long rappers Floyd (The Captain of the Sea) Pitcher and Stephen (Shermhigh) Sherman remind us of hip hop’s roots along with new styles and rhymes that bring their music into the new age (2020's). MID CITY MADMEN have been mastering the art-form under a handful of AKA’s since ‘92, Primarily GHOST, and their music continues to stand tall.
Boasting years of early success on the scene, from supporting 2 Live Crew and Limp Bizkit to building a following across New Orleans, LA, the duo consistently aim high and hit the mark.
Having sold out House Of Blues as headliners on two separate occasions, MID CITY MADMEN are no stranger to the stage and the bigger crowds. Their rise in the nineties saw them connect with the global hip hop scene as the band GHOST, and since hone their skills to greater and greater levels. Reuinted in 2021, they promise to bring a sound that will not disappoint .
Shermhigh backs up his passion for rap with a history in the US Navy and a plethora of other bands. HIs streetwise approach helped bring the newly formed MID CITY MADMEN into the 2020's scene in style. In addition, Being A businessman through and through, The Captain has always been the catalyst for all of the duo’s bands past and present, bringing a savvy business background into the mix and ultimately helping pave the way for their success.
Openly influenced by the likes of Beastie Boys, Linkin Park, House Of Pain, Eminem, Gorillaz. Public Enemy, Naughty by Nature, Dre & Snoop, and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, MID CITY MADMEN offer up a uniquely creative take on modern hip hop. Far from victims of a single genre, their style transcends expectation yet keeps integrity and realness at the forefront of the sound.
Blending rap, rock, funk and a multitude of other mediums, formed from a love of music across the board, MCM present a catalogue of originals that range from the deeply contemplative to the outright high-energy anthems.
With a brand-new EP in the works out of Dusty Attic Studios in LA (run by Keith Baker), MCM promise a compelling music video release, a new website, and all of the active socials required to reconnect with their existing audience and simultaneously build new bridges with those ready to listen. Though far from the beginning of their journey, this is undoubtedly the start of an epic new chapter that is sure to please the masses.
