Rick Amburgey

My name is Rick Amburgey and I am a Christian, Country and Folk/Americana song lyricist.

I started writing as a teenager and continue to write a lot into my 20s. As I got older, I was a teacher. Even though I moved to the Nashville area for three or four years, I was focused on my teaching job and writing wasn't a priority. Earlier this year, I realized that I needed to change. I couldn't realistically see myself teaching for the remainder of my professional career because I have limited mobility. If I was going to pursue another career, it was going to be music.

I enrolled in Berklee Online and I have started writing daily. I feel like I am writing some of my best songs now. I have a lot more to say. My goal is to get some placements to share my writing with the world.
