Seems as we get closer to the end of the year, the educational events become more plentiful. We've got lots of great places for you to check out this month, so let's take a look, shall we? September
9		Billboard Mobile Entertainment Live San Francisco, California www.billboardevents.com Mobile Entertainment Live brings together the most creative minds from the wireless and entertainment camps. Some of the more important discussions will center around the future of music content on mobile phones--like ring tones and song downloads; on-demand and streaming video; and mobile social networking. Some top-level industry executives will keynote the event that will also focus on new business and revenue models for the future.
12-14		28th Annual West Coast Songwriters Conference Los Angeles, California www.westcoastsongwriters.org Seminars, panels, workshops, open mic sessions, live performances, song screening, and acoustic concerts are only the tip of the iceberg for this wonderful yearly get-together. Then you can add in a plethora of industry pros and the great setting and you've got one helluva conference. This one is worth its weight in gold.
17-20		Atlantis Music Conference and Festival Atlanta, Georgia www.atlanticmusic.com This entire festival has been restructured with the focus of bringing artists, industry pros, fans, and the media together to create great opportunities. Some 35,000 people will attend the panels, parties, and performances. There will be a major keynote address as well as plenty of career opportunities. Their mission is to provide education and networking to a combination of up-and-coming musicians and established music industry pros from around the country.
18-20		PLAY: stl Music Festival and Conference St. Louis, Missouri www.playstlfest.com This is the second year for this emerging festival that enjoyed great success in 2007. Plenty of panels, workshops, and music for everyone in the Show Me state. You can expect more than 100 acts to perform over the three-day festival.
25-27		Seventh Annual Midpoint Music Festival Cincinnati, Ohio www.mpmf.com This Cincy event, now in its seventh year, is a festival held in downtown that is known for showcasing Indie, local, regional, and established national and international talent. If you're looking for an event that's all about the music, you've found it!
25-28		Dewey Beach Music Conference Dewey Beach, Delaware www.deweybeachfest.com If you're looking for an exquisite location, here it is. Dewey Beach sits on a narrow peninsula between the Atlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay. You will experience three days of tradeshows, demo and mentoring sessions, industry meet-and-greets and plenty of career networking. And don't dare pass up one of the industry cruises on the bay!
