Please listen to the following references they gave us to get an idea of the style that could work for this pitch:

"Hello" by Adele:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQHsXMglC9A

"Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_weSk0BonM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-MBfn8XjIU

Give them well-structured, radio-worthy Songs that have immediately engaging melodies, impactful lyrics, and a chorus that packs and emotional punch. Your production and recording quality should be competitive enough to get this legendary artist interested in your song, although it's likely they'll be cutting a new version.

Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI screener handpicked by the Label - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Thursday, July 28th, 2016. TAXI #Y160728AC

NEW LISTING -- CONTEMPORARY COUNTRY SONGS with Male Vocals are needed by a hard-plugging Nashville Publisher for a charting Major Label Artist who's working on a new record. They're need radio-worthy, Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that you'd expect to hear coming from artists like these:

"Shotgun Rider" by Tim McGraw:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkpuLMsDn48

"American Country Love Song" by Jake Owen:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnyOOSE0z1c

"That Don't Sound Like You" by Lee Brice:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiyXZhhqWqc

Give them well-structured songs with modern Country melodies, and a visual, engaging, and direct storyline that Nashville begs for! Your chorus needs to be incredibly strong and ready for radio. A solid, super confident vocal performance will help get the Publisher and Artist excited about cutting your song. Your demo quality should be competitive with songs being pitched on the Row.

The specific deal points will be negotiated on a song-by-song basis directly with the Publisher. Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI screener handpicked by the Publisher - No full critiques. NEW LISTING -- VINTAGE RECORDINGS of ORIGINAL (no covers) CHRISTIAN COUNTRY SONGS recorded in the 1960s and 1970s are needed by an A-List Publisher for Film and TV sync licensing placements. Both Male and Female Vocals and All Tempos will work for this pitch. If you've got old recordings that sound like they could be on a playlist with artists like (but definitely not limited to) those below, you might have exactly what this publisher needs:

"Jesus" by Johnny Cash:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Fu3n6md-IY

"Why Me?" By Kris Kristofferson:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-U7Okcu5rX0

"Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven" by Loretta Lynn:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FMDyFJPCZw

"Family Bible" by George Jones:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_MMmzkNkKc

"Letter to Heaven" by Dolly Parton:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sG9he_1QqHQ

Quoting the Publisher: "I'm looking for anything that's Country and Spiritual from that '60s -'70s era. It doesn't have to sound like those references. It just needs to be from that era and spiritual in nature."

Please send them old masters or demos of your original (no covers) Christian Country Songs that were written and recorded in the 1960s and 1970s. The recording quality is not expected to be on par with today's broadcast quality! Many TAXI members with nothing more than good demo recordings have been signed by this publisher. They're much more interested finding music that sounds authentic to the time period!

This Publisher is the hot, go-to company for a long list of extremely popular TV shows and big Feature Films when they need music that is authentically from a particular time period. The Publisher pays you upfront for the master rights and the Publisher's share of the copyright, and you keep the Writer's Share of the publishing and earn income from performance royalties paid by your Performing Rights Organization.

This company often averages several placements per week, and many of those are TAXI members who've been signed with this company because they submitted to a listing like this! Dozens of TAXI members have signed buy out, cash-up-front deals with this company. Several have even received up front checks for $10,000 - $15,000 (or more!) Deal sizes and buyout amounts vary depending on the quantity and quality of the songs signed by the Publisher.

They DO NOT want material that was recently recorded and made to sound old. They can only use AUTHENTIC, ORIGINAL, VINTAGE RECORDINGS, as long as the sound quality is reasonably good. This is a golden opportunity to make money with music you might have thought had no hope in today's market!

Your name needs to be on the copyright. Your songs need to be original compositions (no covers), and you need to own or control the copyright and master recordings to submit for this pitch. DO NOT SUBMIT FOR FRIENDS! Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. Please include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Saturday, July 30th, 2016. TAXI #S160730CC

NEW LISTING -- CONTEMPORARY COUNTRY HITS with Male Vocals are needed by a Nashville-based Music Publisher that's working hard to find great songs for an Award-winning Country Star's next album. He's on the prowl for original, one-of-a-kind Country Songs in All-Tempos that could be found on a playlist with references like these:

"Mind Reader" by Dustin Lynch:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGvWrJDzcg0

"Mr. Misunderstood" by Eric Church:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOuF3k_-asA

"John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16" by Keith Urban:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gdu8M2val_w

Give him well-structured songs with a fresh melody, visually descriptive lyric, a relatable storyline, and an unforgettable chorus that's ready for radio. You'd be wise to have a solid, super confident vocal performance to get the Publisher and Artist excited about cutting your song. Your demo quality should be competitive with songs being pitched on the Row.

The specific deal points will be negotiated on a song-by-song basis directly with the Publisher. Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by a TAXI screener handpicked by the Publisher and must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016. TAXI #S160803CH

NEW LISTING -- CONTEMPORARY COUNTRY SONGS with Female Vocals are needed by a Nashville Publisher for a hot new band that's on the verge of breaking big. The search is on to find them radio-friendly, Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that would work for artists like these:

"Fly" by Maddie and Tae:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfDr_7LN-Ew

"Lipstick" by Runaway June:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRflFzMiDhk

"Peter Pan" by Kelsea Ballerini:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmU0b8bxlG8

Quoting the Publisher: "They're a buzz-worthy female act that has Nashville's attention, so we're looking for smash hits that will cement their place. We need songs with some substance, but still radio-friendly."

You heard the man! Give them songs that fire on all cylinders, with a super catchy melody, a visually detailed lyric, a fresh storyline, and chorus that sounds like it will stick at the top of the charts for weeks on end! Because it's early in this band's career arc, this is a great time to become part of their "camp" of first-call songwriters.

The specific deal points will be negotiated on a song-by-song basis directly with the Publisher. Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI screener handpicked by the Publisher - No full critiques. NEW LISTING -- FUNKY, CHILLOUT LOUNGE SONGS and/or INSTRUMENTALS are needed for several Direct-to-Supervisor, Non-Exclusive (background source) placements in a cool, Independent Feature Film. If you submit a song with vocals, both Male and Female Vocals are welcome. Instrumentals are fine as well! Please submit authentic sounding Chillout music that could be found on a playlist with acts like (but not limited to) Groove Armada, Thievery Corporation, Zero 7, etc., etc., etc. Take a listen to the references they gave us to get in the ballpark of what they need:

NOTE: They’re looking for background source music, so it’s more about the overall vibe and mood-setting quality than what your lyrics are about. Get creative, and use the references only as examples of what could work for this pitch. They’re not looking for clones or replacements.

“My Friend” by Groove Armada:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxohJX9ElpE

“Web of Deception” by Thievery Corporation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=849kZIBQY7I

“Simple Science” by Zero 7:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trNc9Qz13qo

Please submit in-the-pocket Chillout Cues that deliver a groovin’ cosmopolitan sound, like something you’d expect to hear in a trendy upscale bar, swanky hotel lobby, or highbrow restaurant. If you submit a song with vocals, be sure your vocal performance is the kind of soulfully expressive delivery you’d expect to hear from one of the references.

Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists or their music in any way, shape, or form. Use it only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Also, do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of other artists’ songs, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

The estimated license fee for this use is $200. They’re looking for rhythmically interesting Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumentals that could be found on a playlist with these references:

“You & Me” by Disclosure ft. Eliza Doolittle (Flume Remix): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUkkaqSNduU

“Out of Hand” by Shlohmo:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRwh7wn1xf4

“Been so True” by Sepalcure:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PITmv8RGGg

TAXI Tip: You’d be really smart to listen to all the references so you can get a feel for the range of what could work for this pitch. The Supervisor is NOT looking for clones, but IS looking for music that is in this ballpark!

Give them hip, forward-thinking Songs and/or Instrumentals that are rhythmically and melodically engaging, that use trend-setting production techniques and sounds that push the boundaries of Electronic music. It’s all about the “cool” factor for this pitch! If you submit a Song, the vocal performance should be stylistically in line with the textural/effect-laden approach that defines this genre. Music that doesn’t compete with dialog will likely do best, so please be sure your submissions aren’t too frenetic or overly distracting.

This is a Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Master and Composition rights, plus you’ll also keep 100% of the sync fee and any applicable performance royalties. NEW LISTING -- COVER VERSIONS in ANY GENRE of “Pretty In Pink” by The Psychedelic Furs, with Male or Female Vocals are needed by an Exclusive Music Licensing Company with a great track record of TV Placements. Genres that could work for this pitch are (but not limited to): Acoustic Singer/Songwriter, Pop, Country, Electronic, Folk, Punk, R&B, Rock, and any other sub-genre you can imagine! Take a listen to the original, if you’re not familiar already:

“Pretty In Pink” by The Psychedelic Furs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqmTMiIMG74

Please submit well-recorded Covers in ANY Tempo, with instrumentation that fits the genre you choose to submit, and a great genre-appropriate vocal performance as well. Try to NOT stray too far away from the original melody. That could make your version recognizable. You’d be smart to add some unique character that will make your version stand out from the rest. Your versions can range from somewhat stripped-down to full band arrangements. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

This Company offers an EXCLUSIVE agreement with a 50/50 split. The specific terms of this agreement will be determined directly between you and the Library. CONTEMPORARY POP INSTRUMENTAL CUES with an R&B edge are needed for many $250 Non-Exclusive placements by the Music Supervisor of a popular Reality TV Show. Please submit current sounding Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumental Cues in the general stylistic wheelhouse of these references:

"Work From Home" by Fifth Harmony:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GL9JoH4Sws

"Where Are U Now" by Justin Beiber:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nntGTK2Fhb0

Although the references have vocals, please submit Instrumental Cues only for this pitch.

Give them fresh, hooky, rhythmically and melodically engaging Cues that can add a modern Top-40 vibe to various scenes in the show. Structure your Cue around a simple, but catchy melodic theme, while adding a removing instrumentation as it progresses to keep it dynamically compelling and interesting from top to bottom. Please avoid anything that sounds stiff, dated, obviously MIDI-driven, or overly frenetic, as that could be a distraction from a scene's dialog.

On top of the $500 per track fee, you will also keep 100% of the Writer's share of the publishing and make applicable performance income.

They're looking for super fresh Cues Instrumentals that you'd expect to hear on a playlist like this:

Paris Jazz Sessions:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiX1bilboBM

Please submit well-performed instrumentals with authentic-sounding, Parisian-Style Jazz instrumentation (brushed drums, standup bass, guitar, piano, clarinet, accordion, etc.). NEW LISTING -- POST ROCK and EPIC POST ROCK INSTRUMENTAL TRACKS are needed by a high quality Production Music Library with lots of placements in TV Shows, Feature Film Trailers, and Commercials. This company pays an upfront Buy Out Fee. Very few TAXI members are in this catalog (so far!), so this is a great opportunity to develop a new relationship.

They're looking for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Post Rock and Epic Post Rock Instrumentals in the general stylistic ballpark of acts like (but not limited to): Exitmusic, Grass House, and The National. Please listen to these references to get yourself in the wheelhouse of what they need:

"Passage" by Exitmusic:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmtcrv2ImF4

"The Night" by Exitmusic:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecGIxdeWKrY

"And Now For the Wild" by Grass House:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiWltWVpdYc

"Spinning As We Turn" by Grass House:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIPf71OxpRU

"I Need My Girl" by The National:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-Tod1_tZdU

"Bloodbuzz Ohio" by The National:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfySK7CLEEg

Although the references may have vocals in them, they are only looking for Instrumentals for this pitch!

Listening to several examples of the referenced acts could go a very long way in helping you understand what this company is looking for! Don't JUST lock in on the references. Some songs are more ethereal and trippy, some are more beat driven but still have the cool textures, rich guitar tones, lush reverbs and delays.

Give them Instrumentals that stick to one central theme and mood. In other words, don't try to "score" a scene with different motifs or moods in the same piece. Sticking to one idea/melody in each piece makes it easier for Music Supervisors and Editors to use your material. Weaving innovative parts and sounds in and out to create a mood that will enhance a scene is the objective for this pitch. What might you hear as a camera pans over a desolate, foreboding landscape in an episode of Vice? What would you hear in a documentary scene showing abject poverty in a third world country? What would be a great sonic backdrop when looking out at the plains of Africa during a monsoon season sunset? Those are just some of the types of scenes your music could potentially be used to enhance!

Quoting the company's owner: "We need pieces with interesting sounds, textures, and production. Nothing too polished, and definitely no MIDI based guitar parts. All sounds should be real, organic instruments with some really cool effects (delays, reverb, etc.) that create interesting textures and moods."

TAXI Tip: This company's owners are guitar players who normally do these types of tracks, so the bar is set kind of high on this pitch. If your material is strong, they've got no shortage of places to license it to!

All Instrumentals should be at least 2 minutes long and have non-faded, natural endings. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced music in any way, shape, or form. Use it only as a guide for texture, and tone. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

This company offers a buyout deal. You get paid an upfront fee for your tracks. This company is also known for reaching out to their composers for more material in the same vein! The Music Library gets 100% EXCLUSIVE ownership of the copyright and master. You'll keep the writer's share, and get performance royalties directly from your PRO. You must own or control 100% of your Master and Copyright to submit for this pitch. Because this is an Exclusive deal, please do not submit any material for this pitch that is signed to any other library or publisher!

Please submit one to three Instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Saturday, July 30th, 2016. TAXI #Y160730PR

All submissions should be at least 2 minutes in length. Good Edit Points are encouraged, and endings can be faded or buttoned. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced music in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for feel, texture, tone, and vibe. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

This Library offers an EXCLUSIVE, 50/50 split. You'll get 50% of any sync fees and 100% of the Writer's share. The Publisher will get 50% of the sync fee and 100% of the Publisher's share. You must own or control your Master and Composition to submit to this pitch. Don't submit anything that's already been signed to any other library or publisher!

Please submit one to three Instrumental Cues online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Saturday, July 30th, 2016. TAXI #S160730EC

ALT POP INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by the hard-plugging CEO of a Non-Exclusive Music Library with a great history of placements, especially in the Reality TV world. Please submit inventive, Mid-to-Up-Tempo Cues in the general stylistic wheelhouse of artists like (but not limited to):

Lykke Li:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJyy1yUsPvk

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHV04eSGzAA

Oh Land:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LcL7MAqwOc

Although the references have vocals please submit Instrumentals only for this pitch.

Give them current sounding Cues with infectious, Pop-driven chord progressions, hook-driven melodies, and production that sounds "Alt," modern, and not dated. Your instrumentation can vary, but should be current, and something that's typical of the genre. Build your Cue around an inviting melodic theme, while adding and subtracting instrumentation as your Cue progresses to keep it dynamic, interesting, and building toward a big finish. TAXI Tip: If you’re taking an existing song and creating a mix without a vocal, it might sound a like a rhythm track. Try making the melody somewhat more sparse to fill the void created by the lack of a vocal!

The deal is NON-Exclusive, but you will not be permitted to license the same song for other video games during the contract period. You can still pitch it for other opportunities like film and TV. They're looking for Orchestral-based, Down-to-Mid-Tempo Instrumental Cues in the general stylistic wheelhouse of music you'd hear in movies like The Road To Perdition and Shawshank Redemption. Quoting the library: "We already have 'Love' and 'Sad' albums, so we're looking for instrumentals that occupy the space between these moods, with a sense of almost emotional ambiguity."

Please submit emotionally compelling Instrumentals that use a simple, yet engaging melodic motif, with authentic-sounding Orchestral instrumentation. Add and subtract instrumental layers as your cues progress to keep them dynamic, interesting, and forward moving.

Your submissions should be at least 2 minutes long with non-faded, buttoned endings. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced music in any way, shape, or form. Use it only as a general guide for tempo, tone, texture and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

This company offers an EXCLUSIVE 50/50 deal, and an 80/20 split in the Writer's favor for any applicable download fees by clients from their Library! Please be sure the material you submit for this pitch is NOT already signed with any other Libraries or Catalogs. NEW LISTING -- SOULFUL INDIE POP SONGS with Female Vocals are needed by a 5-Star Music Library with a massive list of great Film/TV Placements. This library hasn't run a listing with TAXI in several years, so chances are you don't have anything in their catalog yet. This is a great opportunity to start a new relationship! They're eager to find hip Indie Pop Songs in All-Tempos that could be found on a playlist with these references:

Bishop Briggs:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMixa5uzZ9A

Emmi:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBAT-PkraMU

Bibi Bourelly:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnugCpTmJE8

Please submit unique, trend-setting Songs that have a real-deal "Indie" aesthetic, with a rhythmically, melodically, and lyrically innovative approach. Your vocal performance should connect to the audience on an emotional level, with a soulfully expressive delivery that's generally in line with the references above.

Lyric themes can vary, but should be something that's commonly heard in the Indie Pop genre. Universal lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and places will make your songs more appealing, but they're not absolutely necessary.

Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

This company offers an EXCLUSIVE 50/50 deal, and an 80/20 split in the Writer's favor for any applicable download fees by clients from their Library! Give them infectious, slick, well-crafted songs that quickly seduce listeners with catchy melodies and a chorus that's filled to the brim with Top-40 Radio appeal. Vocally, you'd be smart to have a polished Pop delivery that's in the general ballpark of the references. Your production and recording quality needs to be competitive enough to get the label and the artist excited about cutting your song.

Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Tuesday, August 9th, 2016. TAXI #S160809PO

NEW LISTING -- CONTEMPORARY FEMALE POP SONGS are needed by the V.P. of Creative at a powerhouse Music Publishing Company for charting, Major Label artists like:

Sabrina Carpenter:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlH78Tm_oUk

Bella Thorne:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKdw_HG_Jek

Zendaya:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JiKNkXFMB0

Your submissions should be reflective of Pop that's currently on the charts, but skew slightly young-ish. Lyrics can be about relationships (falling in or out of love), but appropriate for artists that are in their late teens. Keep it clean enough for a "tween" audience, and you should be good to go. Be careful to not get too childish, though.

Good song structure, super catchy melodies, and fresh lyrics that find a new way of saying the same old thing are the way to go. Saying something that's never been said before, but has a broad appeal with the tween and teen demographic could really set you apart! Your recording quality needs to be clean, clear, well balanced, and good enough to represent your song well.

Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Thursday, August 11th, 2016. TAXI #S160811FP

NEW LISTING -- HIGH-ENERGY, RAP/HIP-HOP SONGS with Pop Appeal and Male Vocals are needed by an A-List Music Library with a killer list of great Film/TV Placements. This library hasn't run a listing with us in quite a few years, so chances are you don't have anything in their catalog yet. This is a great opportunity to start a new relationship! They're itching to find contemporary, Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that could be found on a playlist with these references:

"Dance Off" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis:

"No Interruption" by Hoodie Allen:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_t431MAUQlQ

"Knock Knock" by Mac Miller:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bMmhKz6KXg

Submit commercially appealing Songs that have a rhythmically and melodically engaging beat, with a lively vocal performance that generally reflects the style of the references above. Your submissions should have a compelling chorus section that's either sung, or rapped, with a catchy hook-driven quality. Lyric themes can vary, but should be something that's commonly heard in the Rap/Hip Hop genre.

Universal lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and places will make your songs more appealing, but they're not absolutely necessary.

Singer / Songwriter
Return to List of Categories

NEW LISTING -- CONTEMPORARY FEMALE SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS are needed by the V.P. of Creative at a Major Music Publishing Company for the chart-topping, Major Label artists they pitch to on a daily basis. They're currently looking for Songs in All-Tempos that would work for artists like:

Sara Bareilles:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3q5aMVLKcQA

Colbie Caillat:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hCDlXKPPiY

Ingrid Michaelson:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsvKT8vsgF4

Songs can range from introspective piano-driven songs to emotionally upbeat acoustic guitar-driven songs about life, love, relationships of all kinds, and all the usual topics that appeal to the cream of the crop female Singer/Songwriters. This Publisher is willing listen to stripped-down, piano/vocal or guitar/vocal demos, as well as fully fleshed out arrangements.

Though these artists are considered Singer/Songwriters, their more recent releases lean a little more Pop in their production, so you'd be smart to submit songs that lend themselves to Mid-to-Up-Tempo songs that could be produced in that style. Ballads may not be the way to go unless you've got something strong enough to know Adele off the charts.

Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Thursday, August 4th, 2016. TAXI #S160804SS

NEW LISTING -- TRADITIONAL SOUNDING WORLD MUSIC (Songs and/or Instrumentals) are needed by a 5-Star, Exclusive Music Licensing Company that has a great track record of placing music by TAXI members in Film, TV, and Commercials. They're open to (ANY and ALL forms of) African, German, Middle Eastern, Greek/Mediterranean, and Italian Music.

Please submit well-crafted Songs and/or Instrumentals that capture the true spirit of the Country/Region/Continent you choose to submit. Ensemble size can vary from something small, to a fuller production. If you submit a song with vocals, please be sure your lyrics are authentic, no matter what region your music comes from or the style of music you submit. We're pretty sure that universal lyrics might not be as important as usual for this pitch, but you'd still be smart to avoid profanity, and maybe even political-based lyrics. Appropriate sounding broadcast quality is needed (Great sounding home recordings are fine).

This Library offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, so the material you submit for this pitch CANNOT be signed with any other publishers or catalogs. Sync fees will be split 50/50. The Publisher will get the Publisher's share, and you'll get the Writer's share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity.

The Problem TAXI Hasn't Solved

Dear Passengers,

Just in case you've been on vacation or under a rock this summer, you may not have noticed how incredibly great our Industry Listings are! No hype, just the truth.

Eighteen months ago, some members were dropping out of TAXI because we didn't have enough Instrumental opportunities for them. The industry has clearly swung back to Instrumentals because of all the Reality TV Shows, and now they can't seem to get enough!

But here's the most exciting part of this exploding demand for Instrumental music: TAXI is now getting TONS of music requests from huge production companies that are building their own In-House Music Libraries. We've already begun working with two big companies in the last month, and we can't seem to find them music fast enough!

The requests are pouring in because they've got to stock entire libraries with thousands of Instrumentals and Songs. They're basically starting from scratch and they want to ramp up in a hurry! It's a different animal than when we help other music libraries freshen up their catalogs or fill in particular genres.

These giant production companies need thousands of pieces of music, and they can't solicit it online because they don't want to spend the money to build an A&R department to screen it all.

That's why TAXI was created, and these large production companies are pretty darn happy that we can handle the load and find them what they need! Yay us, and yay you!

The really cool part is that the music going into those In-House Libraries will be used on virtually all of the shows the companies produce, as well as their digital and online content. It's a very exciting time for our members.

But Here's a Problem We Can't Solve...

The case of the inattentive musician! Here's an example: I got a call from the CEO of an A-List Music Library yesterday. He offered a deal to a TAXI member, but when the member found out the library's deal was exclusive, he or she passed on the deal.

The library's CEO was a little ticked off. Not enraged, but he called to let me know this happens with our members somewhat regularly. The listing very clearly said the company offered an exclusive deal! It even went as far as asking members to not submit material that was signed to any other publishers. The listing couldn't have been any more clear!

The member wasted the submission fee, and the music library CEO wasted his time as well.

The person who didn't read the listing carefully made a bad impression on the CEO of that company, and the incident (and others like it) didn't help the image that CEO has of our members as a whole. We want our members to be perceived as professionals!

Another example:

A TAXI member called to complain that we didn't have many Rap/Hip Hop opportunities. While we had only one listing asking for Hip Hop songs, we had several more looking for Hip Hop Instrumentals! The Hip Hop Instrumental requests were under the Instrumental category.

We've never been able to solve the problem of the people who don't at least skim all the TAXI Industry Listings. And we've never been able to solve the problem of members who don't read the Listings carefully.

We're entering into a renaissance period of sorts at TAXI. Those who pay attention will benefit greatly! Those who don't pay attention are going to miss some pretty incredible opportunities!

Put your phones down, turn off Pokémon Go, and focus on the music career you've always wanted because we're handing it to you on a silver platter! Check out this incredibly robust batch of 35 new opportunities. Tons of instrumentals, and plenty of other great stuff as well. Check them out from top to bottom so you don't miss anything!

Talk to you soon,
Michael

CUSTOM CRITIQUES

If you have material you would like critiqued without responding to a specific listing, you've come to the right place. Fill out the submission form with the song title(s) and author(s) as usual, but in place of the listing number write "CUSTOM" in capital letters.
Please include a note specifying the aspects you would like the listener to address.
For example, some members like to have their craft (lyrics, rhyme, structure, etc.) closely critiqued. Others want to know for which genre their writing is best suited (sorry, but we can't recommend specific listings for you to pitch to). Still others want a review of their photos, bios, package, etc.
The submission fee is $20 per song. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope, and make sure to specify if you want the CD back, or just a critique. Remember, these critiques are for your own edification and development and NOT targeted for a label or publisher, and therefore will not be forwarded.
